Spiroflow Systems Inc. in Monroe is hiring at least seven employees and probably more.

The 60-employee company is looking for a variety of engineers and a service technician as the company grows, says Mathias Lee, vice president of sales and marketing.

"We are thrilled to reach this point of growth in the company and look forward to finding the right people that will complement our established team of professionals," he says in a news release about the hiring.

Carolynn Sarver, Spiroflow's director of marketing, says the company also needs employees in the areas of sales, operations, finance and purchasing.

One big driver in the hiring is Spiroflow's creation last year of another company, Spiroflow Automation Solutions Inc., Lee says. That company, which will operate from Spiroflow's 109,000-square-foot facility on Airport Road in Monroe, is coming up with new products in the powder-handling industry.

Spiroflow Systems designs and manufactures powder-handling and robotic systems for production companies. Customers include manufacturers in the fields of pharmaceuticals, food, beverage and recycling.

The company has operated in the Charlotte area since 1991.
